My botanist and Miner are both at 60, but are still using lucis and level 55 gear since my crafters are a bit behind.

 

I've almost got 27 tokens and I already have a couple of each of the counterfoils. I heard that crafted gear can outperform the token equipment if properly melded, is that true of the tools too?

 

The new miner main hand would give me a massive boost over the lucis, so it's looking pretty appealing at the moment!

 

I have not been doing the Favor nodes, mainly because I wanted to get the Mining and Botany MH tools first, and those require dang near every Final Fantasy XIV RGT I can get my hands on (they have 1 spare RGT per tool, so 1 spare Final Fantasy XIV RGT every three weeks). Others, however, HAVE been doing the Favors already .. which means that no, you do not need the i180 gear to do them. Of course, that makes a lot of sense - you need the old BiS to get the stuff and craft the new BiS, you cannot need the new BiS to make the new BiS, or you'd be locked out of it.

 

Folklore nodes, however, do have a high stat requirement. I'm at 616 Gathering, 652 Perception, and it not only takes me two swings to reveal a Folklore node's stuff, I'm not at the point where I'm hitting the Collectabiltiy cap with that amount of Perception. That kind of puts Folklore nodes out of my reach for Final Fantasy XIV RGS without some i180 gear. Will have to try with the mining MH tool once I get ffxiv gil that.

I find Cheap FFXIV Gil to be highly annoying that you can't fight with your chocobo out while you're in a queue... I get that obviously you can't take him with you into the dungeon or whatever but this seems pretty unecessary! Could it not be implemented where selecting to start the instance will simply auto-dismiss your companion? Or even just make it so you have to dismiss them before it will let you enter - much like you have to change back to the class you queued as if you are currently a different one.

 

I guess there might be some kind of technical limitation at play here since your companion joins as a party member yet he cannon queue with you like other party members would. That is the only reason I could see them making it like this but still I feel like it *could* be fixed! It would be especially nice if you're queueing as DPS you could grind fates AND level your chocobo while waiting the 10-20 minutes for the queue...

 

You wouldn't need to do a *complete* overhaul of the system to make it work. It would just need to be changed so that it handles chocobos differently than it does players within a party. In programming each object, be it a player or FFXIV NPC or box or whatever, is usually a part of one or more 'classes'. Right now it seems that chocobos do not have a unique class in terms of their treatment by the duty finder system. If you add a unique class for them to belong to that is ignored by the duty finder system in terms of matching that would fix one problem. Then just add a line or two of code that checks if any party members belong to the chocobo class and if so dismiss them from UFFXIV the parties of any participants before beginning the instance...

 

Of course in a game like this you get tons of interaction across processes and such there could be other intervening factors preventing a simple fix like this.

I mean, come on, we all have done it once in a while, undercutting someone by a few gil, just to get the quicker sale.. i speak of the people who sit there and undercut by hundreds, or thousands of gil, forcing prices to where its not even worth selling an item anymore, and just better off vendoring it off. We ALL want to make money, can't we all work together and come to some agreement?? Lets work together, and find a fair medium to charge at base minimum so that everyone can have a fair share at making some ffxiv gil.

 

I agree, its stupid how people jack the prices way down and make things worthless :/ 

 

Know what'd fix this pretty quickly? 

 

Tax, huge amounts of tax when you put an item up, not for when it's sold. That would stop people from changing their price every 10 minutes. You could even get to the point of a higher tax the greater the difference of the price you listed compared to the lowest it's selling for. Example? Item for 150k, someone puts it up for 149k, gets hit with like 3k tax, maybe not that much, but just an example. Someone tries to be smart and puts it up for 50k, gets hit with a 100k tax. That would fix those people quickly lol If you're going to make an item worthless and contribute to killing the economy, you should have to pay the consequences.

 

Or you know, just do it like XI, you can't see how much people are selling it for, just what it sold for last. SE did it right there, I can count the number of times I've been undercut on XI like XIV does... on 1 finger

 

Just think, if let's say there was plenty of housing space. Without idiots undercutting like this, housing would be reasonably priced, if you could actually sell something higher than 5k ff14 gil
